On the death of Queen Elizabeth II

Today has been a very sad day in the life of our nation, as we mourn the death of Queen
Elizabeth II.

St Nicholas Church flag at half mast

Flowers in memory of her Majesty can be left outside the Churches of St. Nicholas, Barton Le Clay, St. Margaret’s Higham Gobion and St. Faith’s Hexton.

In addition, St. Nicholas will be open each day between 9am and 6pm from this Saturday onwards until
September 19th , where a book of condolence can be signed and night lights lit in her Majesty’s memory.

There will also be a memorial service in St. Nicholas to remember and celebrate her life which will be held on September 18th starting at 10.45am, to which all are welcome.

May Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth rest in peace and rise in glory.

A Prayer for Today

God of love,
We thank you for the life of The Queen,
for her service to our nation,
and for her faith in you.
Be close to all of us who mourn,
that we may we find comfort and hope in your love,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
