Dear Friends,

On Easter Day, the Easter Greeting “He is risen” will be given to countless thousands of people across the world and they will respond, with the words, “He is risen indeed Alleluia.”

For that is the great truth of Easter. Jesus has risen from the dead, just as he had told his disciples he would do. His grave clothes are folded away and his tomb in Jerusalem is empty.

And, because of what Jesus achieved by dying on the cross on Good Friday and by rising again on Easter Day three days later, our sin or wrong-doing can be forgiven and we can live a new life in fellowship with God,  a life which starts now in this life and which continues after our own death, into eternity.

To live such a life, all each one of us has to do is to respond to the great love shown to us by Jesus, as a result of what he did on Good Friday and Easter Day, and to put our faith and trust in him.   

“He is risen”. “He is risen indeed. Alleluia!”
