A ‘Holiday at home’ is being planned, with three events open to people over 50. Preference will be given to Barton residents.
Monday 24th July a day visit to Stockwood Discovery Centre at Luton, departing at 11 am. The Discovery Centre has archaeology and historical displays, a rural craft museum, the Mossman carriage collection, gardens, and a special exhibition ‘Hats made me.’ There is disabled access and the cafe has a verified menu. Admission is free, with a charge to see the hats exhibition.
Wednesday 9th August an afternoon visit to Jordans Mill, departing at 1 pm. There is an optional tour of the mill, a shop, a cafe, gardens, a meadow, and woodland. Admission is free, with a charge of £7.50 for the tour of the mill.
Thursday 24th August a local walk departing at 11 am which will include the Watermill for refreshments.
We are planning to use cars offering lifts to those needing them, rather than a coach, to Stockwood Discovery Centre and Jordans Mill. All events must be booked in advance and registration forms are available in the Library, at the Methodist Church, St Nicholas Church, and here on this website.
Please return forms to 14 Bedford Road by Monday 3rd July.
The event is being organised by a small group of local residents.
