The Friends are...
A group of people, some worshippers, some not, who value St Nicholas Church and who wish to contribute towards its maintenance and the enhancement of its beauty and facilities.
Our aims are to...
raise funds to help maintain St Nicholas Church as a living church, with its history and its work , now and for the future; keep in touch with people in Barton-le-Clay and further afield who have reason to be grateful for the continued existence of this Church.
St Nicholas' Church is...
- the village's parish church which has welcomed parishioners and visitors for over 800 years;
- a place of sanctuary and quiet worship for many;
- a house of prayer, the focus of Barton-le-Clay's spiritual life;
- a centre for civic activities and public acts of worship;
- a meeting place for people of many different interests and from many different backgrounds;
- an architectural gem.
